OpenStreetMap4Primer2 (OSM4Primer2) won the $5,000 top award in the Primer2 Application Design Contest 2009 with a hardware/software design that integrates global positioning system (GPS) capability for use with the map set from OpenStreetMap. OSM4Primer2 implements a GPS module on the add on connector for geo-localization of the tool. In addition it makes use of the the MicroSD card, LCD display and navigation controls for storing, viewing and exploring full color maps from OpenStreetMap.org.
OSM4Primer2 won the top award, edging out 16 other finalists with applications that included games, an alcohol breathalyzer and an MP3 player. The eight prize winners in this second edition of the STM32 application design contest won prizes ranging from the $5000 cash prize to a combination of development tools and cash. Complete results are posted at www.stm32circle.com where users can also download all of the contest entries. Source code and information about hardware adaptations are available for all of the entries, which included two GPS applications, an MP3 player, several clever touchscreen and MEMs implementations, and many games.
New releases of Ride7 and the RKit-ARM (ver. 1.22.09.0251) with GCC compiler for ARM core based families (ARM Cortex-M3, ARM996E, ARM7TDMI) are now available on the free downloads page.
This latest release of RKit-ARM extends support to new variants from STMicroelectronics. Notably it includes devices in the STM32F10xxC "Connectivity" line which include Ethernet and USB OTG. Additional improvements include visibility of all clock frequencies in real time during debug, automatic start up selection and improvements in dependency management.
Ride7 includes several improvements to include better performance when opening large projects, as well as several fixes to known and reported limitations.
The new version of the STM8/ST7 toolset (version 2.20.09.0238) extends support to recent STM8 variants and corrects some known and reported limitations. Newly supported variants include the STM8S903K3 and the STM8L15 from the families' "Low power" line.
Improvements range from automatic rebuild when project options have been modified, to corrections of memory read and handling of data overlays for ST7. Users also benefit from improved performance when opening large projects, as well as fixes to known and reported limitations in the latest version of Ride7.
Both software installations are available on our free downloads page.
The new version of the RKit-51 toolset (version 6.4.53) with Ride6 development environment extends support to numerous new variants from Silicon Laboratories and devices from Micronas. In addition users benefit improved optimizations in the C compiler toolchain and corrections of several known and reported limitations.
Newly supported variants include Micronas HVC2480A family and Silicon Laboratories:
- C8051F316 - C8051F317 - C8051F33x - C8051F36x - C8051F411
- C8051F412 - C8051F413 - C8051F34x - C8051F34A - C8051F34B
This release consolidates a wide range of corrections and improvments previously released as patches. A listing of fixes and improvements is provided in the release notes.
The "Evaluation" version of the toolset is provided on the free downloads page. Code sizel imitations apply. Users who have bought the Lite, Enterprise or RCA toolsets, can access tool upgrades via our customer downloads page. If your access has expired, please contact info@raisonance.com.
