Raisonance - IoTize Frequently Asked Questions

In the February 2017 spin off by KEOLABS, the company IoTize SAS was created and includes the IoTize connectivity solutions and Raisonance microcontroller application development tools. Below are the responses to the most frequently asked questions posed by Raisonance tool users, customers and partners.

Is this the end of Raisonance or the Raisonance tools?

No. Raisonance products, technologies, teams, and business were all transferred to the company IoTize SAS from KEOLABS. This reorganization allows both companies to focus their efforts and resources on their respective core businesses. For IoTize, this is microcontroller-based embedded systems and connectivity solutions. For KEOLABS, it's smart card testing and certification.

Because of the recognition of the Raisonance brand (created in 1988), IoTize SAS will continue to use it for all microcontroller application development tools (compilers, programmers, debuggers, etc.). Raisonance becomes, as indicated, an IoTize brand.

The Raisonance tool team continues to directly serve and support partner microcontroller manufacturers including, STMicroelectronics, NXP, EM Microelectronics and Semtech. The team continues to support Raisonance users worldwide on a range of Microcontroller architectures (ARM Cortex-M, PowerPC, STM8, ST7, CoolRISC, Cortus and 8051) and to support industry leading device families such as STM32, STM8, EFM32 and LPC to name a few.

Why is Raisonance becoming part of IoTize SAS?

There are both historic and technological reasons for this.

IoTize was originally an R&D project launched by the founder of Raisonance tools, Francis Lamotte. This original project combined both Raisonance expertise in microcontroller application development and RF technologies such as Near Field Communications (NFC).

Raisonance know-how is central to IoTize-M or "microcontroller" solutions. These solutions use a unique plug'n play approach to connectivity integration that is based on the use of on-chip debugging resources for application monitoring. This type of usage was originally explored by Raisonance to help engineers fine-tune their microcontroller applications. As a result, IoTize SAS is the only connectivity (NFC, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, LoRa, etc.) solution provider that can retrofit your existing microcontroller system for the IoT without modifying the system's native firmware.

What does this change mean for customers and users of Raisonance tools?

All of the online resources for customers and users are unchanged:

    Online purchasing, go to: www.raisonance.com
Price quotes and inquiries, email: contact@raisonance.com
Downloads and tech support, go to: support.raisonance.com
  Tech support inquiries, email: support@raisonance.com

When purchasing Raisonance tools or service contracts, this is just an administrative change. Price quotations and invoicing come from IoTize SAS.

When using Raisonance tools, this change is transparent to users. They still use Raisonance software, download from the Raisonance support site and exchange with Raisonance support team.
